RIP Summer

Okay, I first have to reiterate my undying love for our new internet. GAME CHANGER.  I was soooo fed up with DirecTV cutting out when it was cloudy outside (not kidding) and it takeing 6+ hours to upload 800MB of photos, which then meant nothing else would connect to the internet cause that upload was using all of the speed and GAH.  I couldn't take it.  I upload SO MANY pics that I needed a faster internet, so we ditched DirecTV and AT&T internet and went with Charter and I could not be happier!  The internet is LIGHTNING fast -- like that once 6+ hour upload takes like 10 minutes now! WOOT! And it stormed the other night and our cable was still on no problem.  WONDERFUL!  Anyways, yay for modern technology and conveniences.

Okie dokie, so folks, today is my LAST day of summer...and we kicked it off in style with donuts.  Mike the donut fairy wins again! I feel like I've been off work for 6 months (even though I did go back for a few weeks in May, and taught summer school for 5 weeks in June) and tomorrow is gonna be a rude awakening for me that I have no foreseeable break in my near future (already starting to count down to Christmas! haha!) and full workin' days will be my norm now Monday through Friday.  UGH.  So much ugh.

I say this every year when I go back, especially after having a kiddo, how difficult it is to leave them and this year in no exception!  It's gonna be ROUGH.  However, I am happy the big kids get a couple weeks left to hang with dad and some family before they start school on the 16th and that Annie gets a lot of daddy time too.  It makes me happy and breathe easier that even though I'm back to work the kids are still at home with dad -- as difficult as his schedule is with him working nights, it's soooo nice knowing that he's home with them during the day!

So I'm trying not to be depressing Alex for this post because I am bummed I am back to work tomorrow BUT I want to celebrate how awesome this summer was and all of the cool things we got to do!  I feel so blessed to be a teacher who does get each summer off to hang with my own kiddos, so I'm trying to find the silver lining with that.

Hands-down the best part of summer was getting to spend it with these kiddos!  We had so much fun going to the park, pool, shopping adventures, to the Lake of the Ozarks and countless trips to KiKi's lake, and so much more!  These three light up my life and I've had a blast hanging with them all summer and playing so hard!  And it melts my heart how much they genuinely love each other and enjoy each other.  As a mama of more than one this is alllll that I could ask for!

Last week I had a twilight photoshoot and before my clients came Rosie wanted some pics in her sunnies so, duh, we stole away outside for a few quick snaps and she got to her posin' reallllll quick.  Gosh she KILLS me.  What's funny though is that she'll pose like this and be such a ham for the camera for me, but then if we go somewhere and someone 1. tries to talk to her 2. suggest she poses she LOSES HER SHIZ and wants nothing to do with that person and becomes a whiny stage 5 clinger and doesn't let me go.  So, that's fun!  Pics can be misleading, can't they?!! Haha!  Oh so curious how this little clinger is gonna do at preschool this year...hmmm...stay tuned for that!

So this cracked me up...all of Annie's puffs were mysteriously gone this weekend and Scooter couldn't have looked more guilty!  Even Annie knew he snatched them...I'm sure after she whacked her hands around and knocked them on the floor.

Girlfriend does have an undying love for her pup so I don't blame her for sharing her treats :)

Speaking of girlfriends, my friends Tiff and Lauren both have girls within a month or two of Rosie and we are always texting about how sassy and opinionated they are.  Lauren had won a giveaway and sent all of the BFFs (Rosie and Elsie) matching necklaces like Zoey had and we decided we finally needed to dress them similar and take a snap of them "talking on the phone to their besties" in our yards!  I am LOVINGGGG how these pics turned out!  These girls crack.me.up.  I hope one day we could get them all together to play soon! Gosh what a riot that would be!

Last night Annie and I went ^^^ here for a breastfeeding photoshoot with a bunch of other mamas in STL to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week (which is August 1st - 7th).  I cannot WAIT to see how these snaps turned out!

Annie was clearly THRILLED (she was!) for the shoot!  She was getting hangry towards the end while we were waiting for our turn for pics (duh. she was hungry and being DENIED!  Haha!) but otherwise she was so wonderful for pics.  I really cannot wait to see how they turned out!!  We didn't leave though until after 8pm which was past her bedtime and she proceeded to scream the entire 40 minute drive home.  Ekk.  Not like her.  But she did sleep in until 9:30am this morning so yay for that!  I'm sure I'll have a separate post with those pics once I get them back :)

Golly, what else has been going on these last few days of summer?!  Welp...

Annie got this Munch Mitt in her baby bundle this month and she is LOOOOOVING it.  So am I; I should order a few more!  I love how it comes with a bag and you can toss it in the washing machine and dryer to clean it.  Easy peasy.

The kids got a new grill -- actually my mom had bought this at a garage sale like 4 years ago for Patrick and put it in her attic and promptly forgot about it until just now...so Christmas came in July for the kiddos and they've been playing with it every since!  I went ahead and ordered some play utensils and such for it because they're currently using my real ones and I'm thinking that will just end bad. Haha!

We went to my cousin Abby and her hubby Stuart's housewarming party this weekend and everyone had a blast -- but from the looks of my camera roll you'd think only Rosie did!  Haha!  She was obsessed with her strawberry necklace and REAL strawberry she had too.  Gosh she cracks me up.

Okay!  So that's about it from me for this last day of summer...we celebrated with donuts for breakfast and MOD pizza for lunch, then who knows what for dinner (probably whatever I can throw together from the fridge) cause Mike is snoozing and I have a lot to get together for work tomorrow.

It really was a wonderful summer with my babes and I loooooved every crazy chaotic second of it watching them grow and learn and play and have a blast.  Oh, sweet summertime, I love you so!  Please don't take too long to get here 2018 edition...I gotta have something to look forward to!  And now that my summer is officially over: bring on fall! I am ready!

Have a great week friends!
