My Favorite Time of the Year!

Next to holiday time, September is my favorite time of the year.  Why?!  The weather, you probably guess--and that is partly true.  I do love the weather and especially snapping family pics in it...but no.  That's not why.  The reason I love September: NEW iPHONE TIME!  WAHOOOOO!

Okay.  It's no secret that I'm a huge tech fiend: I love getting new tech gadgets.  Well, every fall a new iPhone is released and I get giddy as a kid on Christmas morning when I order mine and then it arrives the day it's released.  This year was no exception: I was getting the new iPhone 6S Plus (in gold! squeal!)--my EIGHTH iPhone--I've had every single iPhone except the original.  And no, I don't have them all...pre-hoarder husband, I use to get a new one and sell my old one.  Now my old one gets handed down to Mike and his becomes a backup/emergency phone.

I left this lovely note for the FedEx guy before I left for work on Friday--didn't want to chance missing my beloved iPhone drop off if he rang the bell and Mike didn't answer.

Well, Mike heard his knock about 2pm and my little beauty arrived!  I was so excited--I raced home right after school and went to work getting it all set up.  I actually left my phone at home (WHATTTT?!! #afirst) because it was still importing everything from my old phone onto it when I went to do my friend's sunset photos.  When I got home it still took another hour (4 hours total!! GAHHHH!) to copy my stuff onto my new toy, but it was worth the wait: the camera alone was worth the upgrade!  It.is.amazing.

Since I don't cart my big camera everywhere, I want a good 'point and shoot' camera that's with me all the time, hence why I always upgrade my iPhone every year--I want the new camera!  Well, this phone's camera is a huge upgrade from the last couple iPhones (which hadn't really ever updated) and I am loving it oh-so-much.

The photos just seem clearer and crisper--even in the dim low-light of our house.  I love love love it.  And another awesome point?!  The front-facing selfie camera is actually 5 MP now (a HUGE jump!) and has a flash!  So your selfies don't look grainy and fuzzy anymore.  WOOT!

So yeah, my weekend has been consumed with learning all of the ins and outs of my new toy and figuring out any and all hidden features that I didn't know about before.  I am in love.  And a year from now I'll be writing a new blog post about how I'm oodling over the new iPhone--just you wait.

Anyways, the rest of the weekend I spent taking lots of pictures (5 photo shoots total!  EEKKKK!  And even as I sit here typing this Sunday afternoon during nap time I still have 2 more shoots this evening!).  If you are interested check out my photog blog to see those.

Saturday we spent the morning doing a much needed grocery shopping trip and Patrick clearly enjoyed having a trusty companion (cause the cart was full!) next to him in the big shopping buggy.  Classy parenting right thurrrr peeps.

Saturday night we have 2 of Mike's coworkers and their families over for dinner--each of us had 2 kids, a boy and a girl.  We had 6 kids under 5 (including 3 2-year olds!) at our house and it was an exhausting blast!  The kids had so much fun playing together.  I wish I'd have gotten more pics, but this is the only one I snapped...and of course Patrick wasn't looking.  Typical.

We also finally overcame our fear of cloth overnight with Rosie and invested in some fitteds (thanks for the push Tiff!) and they have worked AHHHHHMAZINGLY well.  No more sposies at night for this little lady!  Woo hoo!! :) #savingmoney!

Last but not least, here's a photo of Rosie during tummy time aka me trying to con her into rolling over.  Yep.  Not having it.  In my 6 month (WHATTTT???!!) Rosie post in another week I'm sure I'll be writing how she's still not rolling over.  Whatevs.  You do you Rosie, and roll whenever your little heart tells you to.

Anyways, that's all I've got for this dreary cloudy Sunday.  Have a great week friends!!
