New Camera Lens = HEAVEN.

If you follow my photography blog, you'll have already seen my post from yesterday about Patrick.  Well, for those of you who aren't Pics and Paws followers, I figured I'd share some of my new favorite Patrick pictures--taken with my new favorite camera lens!--on this blog!

A little backstory before I unleash the pics...so, I've been wanting a new camera lens for a little bit now.  When I got my new camera earlier this year, I was ecstatic!  It's my most favorite toy, next to my iPhone.  Well, the downside of my new camera was that it's a full body SLR camera, and my old camera was not.  Therefore, the 4 lenses I have for my old camera don't work (or don't work "right") on my full body camera.  Poop.  But I was making do (and loving!) the lens I got with my new camera, so I was happy and content.

Well, fast-forwarded to now: I was really missing my smaller millimeter, f/1.8 50mm lens I had for my other camera.  I could still use it on my full body camera, but it definitely didn't work as well as my other lens that was made for my full body camera.  Alas, I really wanted a new lens that had the same capabilities as this one!

I had made a new 6D (my camera) lovin' mama on Instagram, and she told me about a group on Facebook just for people with our camera!  Score!  Once I joined it quickly became apparent that these ladies on this group had a deep love and affection for their 85mm lens--a lens I did not have.  Well, after much Facebook stalking, chatting with my new buddy, and research, I decided I was going to take the plunge and get the 85mm lens everyone was loving!  So I put it in my Amazon cart, pulled the trigger, and ordered it!

It came late last week and to say I'm in love is an understatement.  I am just blown away by this lens!  The depth of field capabilities, the sharpness, the quality are all spectacular!  I think this is going to be my go-to lens for photo shoots!  Eeeeekkkk!  I was so excited to test it out on Patrick (as you can see below), and now I'm going to be really excited to use it in upcoming shoots (like the one with Chelsea's family later this week!).

Anyways, here are a few of my favorite pics from the shoot.  Enjoy!
