Moms' Shoot: July 2019

Through the bereavement photography I do, I have come across some incredible women and families.  Some of them I never hear from again, but others we connect and begin chatting and have even met up for coffee, playdates, and such.  It's a club that you don't want to be in, don't want anyone else to be in...but when you are, you are SO THANKFUL that you have someone else who understands just what you're going through too.

One of the moms I have met pitched an idea to me earlier this year about getting other loss moms together for a day of pampering -- hair and makeup done, lots of food! -- and then a photo shoot to celebrate them and their babies they've lost.  I LOVED the idea and told her to count me in for whatever she needed!

On Sunday, July 21st is when this was going to take place...a group of moms would get pampered then we'd head off to a local park for a photoshoot.  It truly was an emotional yet amazing day.

I had the pleasure of meeting several new mom friends and we all shared our stories and chatted and it was just a wonderful day.  I then to the pleasure of capturing each of them individually and then group shoots too.

Each of them brought something to honor their little one they had to say goodbye too far too soon and it truly was a honor and a pleasure getting to capture these memories for these ladies.

The news even did a segment on it too...which was wonderful!

Obviously no secret here how outspoken I am with our loss and sharing about it to hopefully tell others they aren't alone and don't need to be silenced either, so this was just a perfect shoot for that.

I hopefully will be sharing some more stories and photos on my photog page soon too...but figured I'd give a little info and such about the shoot here too!  It truly was a great day and one I won't soon forget.  Honored to have been a part of it!
