Squishy Tushy Party

This past weekend we had our "Squishy Tushy" party for #2.  So many of our friends wanted to throw us a party or sprinkle for #2, but there was really nothing we needed or wanted for #2, except more of our {my} favorite baby items: cloth diapers!  So we decided to do a diaper party for #2 instead.

I guess this is a "thing" lately--having a diaper party for your soon-to-arrive babe.  Usually you provide the food and beverages, and your guests bring you a box of disposable diapers so you can create a stockpile of dipes for your new babe.  We decided to do the same thing, but with cloth diapers!  Instead of bringing us a box of disposables, we asked our guests (see invite above!) to bring us one cloth diaper for our new babe!  I even included a handy link on the invite to a list of cloth dipes that we'd like.

I was totally lame on the picture end during the party and only snapped a few of the food setup prior to everyone arriving!  Oops!  Our food spread included a 4-foot sandwich from Mom's Deli in South City (which was ALL GONE as of 9am this morning!), buffalo chicken dip, chili cheese dip, bacon cheddar ranch dip, a veggie spread, M&Ms, tropical Jelly Bellys, chips and triscuits, and cookies and brownies.  Plus, we had two fridges stocked with more beverages than we could ever drink ourselves.  Minus a few cookies and brownies, everything else was gone by the time the party wrapped!

Even being a lame-o and not snapping any pics (so unlike me, right?!!), our party was a great success!  About 30 or so of our friends and family came and totally spoiled us (#2) with some amazing fluff love!  We got so many new dipes for #2 as well as a good stash of wipes and some other goodies!

It was so much fun to have a {probably our last} adult party evening (Patrick partied with us for an hour or so then he departed to the grandparents) with our friends.  A few of our friends are expecting new babes in the coming months as well, so it was so much fun to get to catch up with them about baby stuff and all of that.  Some friends we hadn't seen in what felt like FOREVER, so it was so nice to be able to chit chat with them as well.  Plus, I think I ate myself stupid.  I'm a sucker for dips, and, duh, that's what I made oodles of for the party so I could chow down on it.

We so appreciate all of the love our friends and family gave us on Saturday night!  #2 is so lucky to be entering the world with such awesome friends and family surrounding them.  I know I'm biased, but we truly have the best friends--near and far!--in the world!  I can't wait for #2's arrival and for all of them to meet him/her!
