18,000

Way back in July I posted about how we got to 14,000 ounces of breastmilk donated.  This was a big ol’ milestone for me and I was so happy to reach it and share about it!

Well, as my pumping journey with Annie is coming to a close and I’m weaning myself off of the pump (I’ll nurse her as long as she wants, but I’m ditching the pump shortly after she turns one!) I just hit another big milk donation milestone:

18,000 ounces.

That’s a little over 140 gallons of breastmilk I’ve donated in a little over 4 years.

And you know what?! It feels pretty darn good to have shared so much mama’s milk love these past years.  I feel so fortunate and blessed with such a plentiful supply, and even more so that I’ve found some mamas out there who needed some milk for their little ones.

Annie was graciously to give me some of her time and let me snap some pics of her with her milk that we have shared -- she loves her mama’s milk and I love that others do to!

I don’t think I’m going to hit my 20,000 ounce donation goal by the time I stop with Annie, but dang nabit, 18,000 ounces feels pretty darn good too!  Perhaps I’ll get to 20,000 (and beyond??!?!) whenever #4 comes along.  Time will only tell!
