19 weeks.

19 weeks!  ALMOST halfway done cookin' this kiddo!  Although I should be sharing cute little ultrasound pics this week, alas, you'll have to wait until my 20 week post because I pushed back my appointment until next Tuesday--wanted it to be as close to 20 weeks as possible, especially since we're not finding out the gender, I want our little man or lady to be a bit bigger before they scan his/her anatomy.

I came across this article and just had to share it here too--I think it's spot on and so true: you don't get to have an opinion on how anyone gives birth. ever.  I LOVE THIS.  And I think more people need to read and really listen to what this article is saying because it's so true.  I'm on a lot of mom-type groups on Facebook, and I see this ALL.THE.TIME.  Moms immediately jumping in to comment and push their opinions as to when another mama posts about her labor, upcoming labor, birth questions, etc... things like "why are you being induced?"  "why would the doctor do a c-section if you haven't even tried labor yet?"  "why aren't you going to at least try to go unmedicated as long as possible?"  And it goes on.  It really aggravates me--leave these poor women alone!  It's their body and they can choose to birth their babies however they choose, so stop making them feel guilty/awful/horrible for whatever choice they feel is best.  Ugh.  I could go on, but I'll leave my little rant there...for now.  (This kinda echoes my "Things Not to Say to a Pregnant Lady" post from a few weeks back, eh?!!)

So whoa.  Holy baby movement this week.  I know I've been feeling #2 move the past couple weeks but holy toledo, these past few days it has been A LOT!  Lots of wiggling and moving and butterflies in my stomach.  I love it.  It's definitely my favorite feeling and I love that it seems to be getting stronger and stronger every day.  Really savoring this, because it goes by way too fast!

I have definitely seen an increase in my appetite as well this week--which I know from like day 1 with Patrick I was hungrier, and now it's almost halfway through and I'm just now feeling like I'm more hungry than I was before.  Definitely craving two things (lately...I'm sure these'll continue to change!): buffalo wings and anything with sugar (i.e. donuts, candy, cookies, etc... pretty much anything that's not good for you!).  I can't get enough of either of these.  Although, 19 weeks in, and I'm (shockingly!) only up 5 pounds--again, way different from when I was preggo with Patrick.  I have noticed though, thanks to my iPhone's handy little health app, that I'm walking a TON more than I have been in the past.  Being one of the tech specialists at my school, I usually spend my day running all over the building and up and down many flights of stairs helping teachers with their needs, so I'm sure that contributes.  Plus, I SWEAR the Juice Plus I've taken since finding out I was expecting has helped immensely as well.  I feel really good (definitely not nearly as tired as I was with Patrick) and that makes me happy.  I definitely recommend it to anyone who's interested--I don't think I'll be stopping to take it anytime soon!

I did have my first "wide eyed" emoji incident, a la someone thinking it was a'okay to reach out and give my belly a good rub, and then make the comment, "April, huh?!!  Hahaha, that belly's got a ways to grow still," and winked at me.  NOT OKAY.  Seriously.  What the heck is wrong with people?!!  Anyways, I know my belly is probably giving off a January due date image rather than April, but again, refer to this post and then keep your mouth shut and hands to yourself.  Sheesh.

Other than that, that's about all that's been a'happenin'!  Patrick has been pointing to my stomach (as well as everyone else's!) and saying "bay-bee" a lot, which is the cutest thing ever.  I'll try and capture a picture of him saying that one of these days and upload it.  So, I leave you with this post for week 19, and next week's will be jam-packed with oodles of exciting ultrasound pictures and goodness.  Stay tuned.  I'm sure you're on the edge of your seats.  Ha.
